Moving Between Worlds.
After a day of rest after the ISMETA CONFERENCE, you can join Caryn and Andrea and host/assistant Bibiana Badenes for the opportunity to deepen and integrate your experience with experiential practices that include indoor/outdoor moving featuring the Agujas de Santa Agueda Mountains of the region and the Mediterranean Sea. The location of and around the history-rich Benicassim, Spain offers the opportunity to move at the “beautiful oasis” of the historic Masia Font Talla villa, and the beaches of Benicassim, and rest under big open skies. 
 
Local produce lunches will be provided to nourish your experiential journey.
Cost 290 euros (Including workshop, transport to and from the Mountains, lunches; housing is NOT included).
Bring writing or drawing notebook, clothing for indoor outdoor movement, swimming attire if you like, and yoga mat or blanket (we will have some available).

About the Presenters:

Andrea Olsen, dance artist, writer, and educator, is author of a quartet of books on the body: Bodystories: A Guide to Experiential Anatomy (1991)Body and Earth: An Experiential Guide (2002)The Place of Dance: A Somatic Guide to Dancing and Dance Making (2014), and Moving Between Worlds: A Guide to Embodied Living and Communicating (2022) with colleague Caryn McHose, along with numerous articles and chapters in anthologiesShe is a Professor Emeritus of Dance at Middlebury College in the US and teaches and performs internationally. Caryn McHose is an Advanced Certified Rolfer™ and Rolf Movement Practitioner®. and co-author (with Kevin Frank) of How Life Moves, Explorations in Meaning and Body Awareness (North Atlantic, 2006). She collaborated with Andrea Olsen on the books Bodystories: A Guide to Experiential AnatomyThe Place of Dance, a Somatic Guide to Dancing and Dance Making, and Moving Between Worlds: A Guide to Embodied Living and Communicating. She has taught creative movement for people of all ages for over 50 years. Her work is influenced by her study with Hubert Godard, developmental movement with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and Continuum with Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper. Other influences are the Somatic Experiencing approach to trauma healing, developed by Peter Levine, and her study of cranial/sacral and visceral technique.
